The NYC Green Build Workforce Development Program is a free Direct Entry Pre-Apprenticeship Program that helps young adults launch careers in the union construction and clean energy industries. Hosted at Snug Harbor Cultural Center on Staten Island, the program provides hands-on training, industry-recognized certifications, career coaching, and direct connections to apprenticeship opportunities.

Participants develop practical life and workplace skills while exploring career opportunities in the construction and clean energy industries. Through hands-on training, industry presentations, and instruction in construction-safety, participants build foundational skills aligned with high-demand careers. Field trips to union training centers and clean energy facilities provide firsthand exposure to career pathways, workplace environments, and emerging technologies. With real-world learning experiences and personalized support, students gain the confidence, skills, to take the next step toward a rewarding career in the skilled trades.
